The Hidden Language of Diplomacy

THE PARTY: Over 250 global diplomats and international fashion influencers came together at the elegant Perry Belmont House for Fashion Night Ignites, an event presented by the Embassies of Czech Republic, Malta, and Slovenia that celebrated the intersection of fashion and diplomacy. THE PEOPLE: The night was brought together by co-chairs Indira Gumarova and Zarah Burstein, who spoke on their initiative to bring diplomatic fashion to DC. “In diplomacy, fashion is as important as language and just as powerful, ” said Gumarova. “It offers the most bi-partisan approach across many layers of society.” BEST IN SHOW: After the show, guests indulged in cocktails and cuisine that honored the cultures of each country to the theme of “A Night in Prague, Ljubljana, and Valletta”.
