Grammy award winner Cardi B took to social media to share a look at a political project she has been working on with presidential candidate Bernie Sanders.
A photograph that appeared on the rapper’s Instagram feed showed the two chatting in a Detroit nail salon on a range of topics including climate change, student debt and the minimum wage.
“Thank you Senator Bernie Sanders for sitting with me and sharing your plans on how you will change this country,” said Cardi in the post.
Fans had been encouraged by the performer days earlier to submit their questions for the presidential candidate. She asked the most popular ones to Sanders.
“She comes from a humble background, knows what it’s like to live in poverty, to struggle and she wants to make sure that we can improve life for working people in this country,” said Sanders said of the rapper during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!. “And I am delighted that she is one of our supporters.”
Cardi B is also set to appear in a campaign video for Sanders and voiced her support earlier this month stating voters had “let him down” in 2016.
