Between the reddish-orange foliage, the darker nights, and the return of the Pumpkin Spice Latte, it’s time to embrace the coziness of fall. Welcome the scents of the season with a fall-inspired spa series from the recently opened Waldorf Astoria Spa, located in the iconic Old Post Office Building.
The tranquil space features six treatment rooms and a rejuvenating Himalayan salt therapy room. In addition, the spa is home to The Sanctuary, a secluded relaxation area with a serenity fountain, private “resting cocoons” and space to relax. Looking for a romantic gift? The spa has rooms tailored to accommodate couples’ massages, so you can comfortably relax beside your partner as you’re both pampered.
In celebration of the season, the spa is offering three unique autumn-inspired packages.
The Warming Spice Massage features the warming properties and sweet scent of ginger root and lemongrass. Warm stones will then be applied and are set to relieve your body’s tension and balance the mind and body. Invite your partner for a romantic couple’s massage or treat yourself to a solo day of pampering.
Revive your face from the changing fall air with an Autumn Radiance Facial. The facial is done with natural pumpkin enzymes and exfoliates your skin so it has a bright, hydrated glow.
Take care of your cold-weather-induced cracking skin with an almond and cranberry hand and foot treatment. The lathering treatment can be added to any other service, too.
The spa features a host of treatments at its luxe location. In the Skin Studio, treat your face to an oxygen-boost facial, sure to clarify your pores, or the ultra lifting and firming facial to knock a few pesky lines and wrinkles off your face, or choose from the ten other facial treatments on the menu.
To pamper your body, request a full-body vitamin C treatment or a detox treatment, both set to invigorate and hydrate your body. Then, try a massage to really let your body relax. There’s a variety available as well as enhancements like Phyto scalp treatment, acupressure, and hot oil treatment, among others.
Spa-goers also must check out the Himalayan salt therapy room. The concentration of salt in the room is beneficial for the body.
“Inhaling the fine salt particles, which act like an expectorant, speeds mucus clearance and helps to improve respiratory function, while simultaneously eliminating bacteria and soothing the lungs,” according to its website.
The autumn spa packages will be available through Friday, Nov. 18. To book a treatment, give the spa a call or visit their website.
The Waldorf Astoria DC is located at 1100 Pennsylvania Avenue NW.
