Below are Lisa’s expert tips and tricks for organizing your kitchen like a pro.

  1. E.E.E.E: Edit the unnecessary, Eliminate the Expired and Excess items.
  2. C.C.C: Categorize all the stuff you have removed, Contain in order to simplify how much you have of each item, and Curate by setting up for function and style.
  3. Open every drawer, cabinet, shelf, and don’t forget about the refrigerator and freezer!
  4. Make a plan where everything should go based on your daily routine and the size of your space. With cooking, cleaning, and serving all happening in the same room, it is essential to set up the right systems.
  5. Accessibility is essential for efficiency. Place your most frequently used items within reach, like cups, glasses, dinnerware, flatware, etc. Place your less-used items in the upper cabinets. Like that china your annoying in-laws gave you.
  6. Countertop clutter is a killer in the kitchen. Keep the counter free of items that do not belong in the kitchen.
  7. Research and measure for the organizational products that will fit perfectly in your drawers, cabinets, and shelves. Accessories will keep everything contained and will maximize the space with room to grow.
  8. Label, label, label! Everyone will thank you for reminding them where all the good snacks live. And by good, we mean your grain-free, sugar-free, taste-free chips.
  9. Avoid under-the-sink clutter by exclusively storing cleaning products that are used in the kitchen.
  10. Don’t be afraid to make changes to the organization setup. Live with the new systems and methods to know what you like and what you don’t like!
