Lafayette 148 New York Brings Sustainable Chic to DC

By Michael M. Clements By Michael M. Clements | March 6, 2019 | Style & Beauty

Lafayette 148 New York opens in Tysons Galleria with style for the modern, accomplished woman, and a mission of empowerment and sustainability.

Last June, powerhouse CEO Deirdre Quinn found herself in good company as she received an award from the Women’s Forum of New York. Her co-award recipients that day were Hillary Rodham Clinton and Sheila C. Johnson. Quinn has come a long way since co-founding her New York-based women’s fashion brand with Shun Yen Siu and Ida Siu in 1996. Aside from an online platform and strong retail presence at Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdale’s, Nordstrom and others, Lafayette 148 New York operates 15 retail stores in China and now a sixth location in the U.S., at Tysons Galleria. The brand’s commitment to being conscious extends from a sustainably built 70,000-square-foot loft space in Brooklyn Navy Yard to a school in China where it funds the education of 300 children, proving that style truly works best when beauty is inside and out.
