On behalf of BP America, the Trustees of the National Gallery of Art hosted a viewing of the Vermeer and the Masters of the Genre Painting Inspiration and Rivalry exhibition. Across nearly 70 works, the exhibition highlights Johannes Vermeer’s contemporaries from the late 17th century among fellow painters including, Gerard ter Borch, Gerrit Dou, Pieter de Hooch, Gabriel Metsu, Frans van Mieris, Caspar Netscher and Jan Steen.The reception gathered art lovers to celebrate Vermeer and fellow painters on their inspirational artistic achievements.
