This year in the D.C. metro area, there will be no shortage of Irish and Irish-inspired food and drink specials at local restaurants, bars and hotels. Whether you're looking to dig into a traditional Irish meal, enjoy some Irish coffee prepared table-side or get familiar with Irish poetry, the city has something festive for you.

This exclusive event takes place Friday, March 18, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Some of the specialties include a salmon croquette paired with an Irish mule, traditional corned beef and cabbage with a Jameson Manhattan, chocolate stout bread pudding with a Bailey’s espresso martini and more.

Can't wait until the real St. Paddy’s Day? The Irish family-owned luxury hotel group at the Doyle Collection will kick-off its inaugural celebration of the group’s Irish Heritage at The Dupont Circle throughout the month of March. At the Doyle Bar, guests will be transported to Dublin with Guinness and oysters, an Irish wine geese menu, Irish coffee prepared table-side, and Irish whiskey tasting flights. The Pembroke will feature Irish specialties on its menu, including Hereford beef in Guinness with herb dumplings, Cashel blue cheese with honey and walnut soda bread, Five Farms’ Affogato with Irish butter shortbread, and a daily Irish breakfast. Meanwhile, all guest rooms and suites can expect nightly turn-down services to include a few lines of poetry from famous Irish poets. Those who book suites will be delighted with Irish whiskey and shortbread as a treat upon check-in.
